Summary: A medieval/fantasy roleplay, which strives to mix the gritty realism of medieval life, with the fantasitcal elements of high fantasy.
Plot:For just over a century, a brutal war was waged between the humans of Reikland and the elves of Silorn. Fittingly named the Hundred Years War, this seemingly endless conflict was the worst atrocity witnessed in the history of the world, responsible for the deaths of millions on both sides of the battle.
The war finally ended thirty years ago, with the Empire of Reikland emerging victorious. Dwindling on extinction, the elves faded into legend, and their once great homeland became a vast, untamed wilderness.
War debt and famine took its toll on Reikland and its allies. The humans had only just started to count their losses when a deadly disease, known as the Black Death, swept across the lands with an uncompromising grasp. Believing the plague was an act of sorcery, Reikland's Emperor Lance theorized that the only way to stop it was to cease using magic. The mystical art became heresy in Reikland, under penalty of death. With haste the Empire grew into a totalitarian state, where mass hysteria and fear of the plague drove citizens to commit unspeakable acts of cruelty.
While the most powerful civilization in the world battled a threat from within, the rest of Grimspire dealt with the Black Death in their own way, to no avail. The disease took millions more lives.
Thirty years later, Emperor Lance still rules Reikland with an iron grasp. Mages have long since fled the Empire, and most present day citizens believe magic is devil worship. Meanwhile, outlaws and all manner of dangerous creatures have increased in abundance, and now infest the wilderness.
