Sacrébelle, 18th century.
The residents on the island of Sacrébelle had become increasingly restless under the rule of the French monarch. As a large island located in the isle between France and England, they had been under the rule of France for centuries. France had taken the large majority of Sacrébelle's flourishing crops and livestock, in the form of a heavy tax. It would have been wise for France to have noticed the increasingly unhappy and angry population.
A rebellion formed, lead by Dominic II, with plans to take the island as their own. Although it took the island eight years, they were successful, France releasing the island from their empire and thus no longer could tax or rule the island's people. They had finally claimed Sacrébelle as their own.
Dominic II became Sacrébelle's first king, and rebuilt and replenished the country. A palace was built in his honour, and the first court was established. It lasted just a few short months, Dominic II dying of heart disease. The kingdom was left to the youngest of his three offspring, the only male heir, Dominic III.
Welcome to King Dominic III's first year as reigning King of Sacrébelle, where courts and towns have been newly established. People from all over the world have travelled here for a new start or new home, joining either the royal courts in the palace, or even the rowdy peasant's fights in the lower city.
