Plot/Intro:
Gravestrike, a corrupted paladin, smirked confidently as his tactician, Chainbrood, displayed their positions on a small-scale model of the region they planned on invading while his generals watched and listened to the plan. He glanced over to the position of Shadedart’s seat but noticed he was not there. He shrugged knowing the assassin to be one to skip meetings and turned his attention back to the tactician’s speech.
“Now as you can see, they have their defenses set around the front, east, and west while the mountains in the south are natural defenses. Slayblow will wait in the north to unnerve the enemy. While they are preoccupied with him, Charnelrot will hide in the east with his horde of goblins. Evilblink will wait in the west hidden as well. Once I give the signal, Charnelrot will unleash his hordes onto the east wall while Evilblink will unleash his goblin soldiers and spells upon the western wall. Once they are distracted with that, Slayblow will attack the gate and Nailspike, along with Shadedart, will come over the mountains and nail them from behind where they will fight with the guard holding them off long enough until the other generals can penetrate the defenses.” He pointed out the word ‘penetrate’ by striking the table loudly with his fist. He looked over to his leader to get a hint of satisfaction.
He smiled wider when he noticed Gravestrike’s approving nod. His happiness vanished a moment later when the makeshift tent’s flap flew open and Shadedart entered the tent confidently. He made eye contact with the tactician and held back a chuckle as he noticed the his nervousness. “Good news,” the assassin grinned. “I have gathered another score and half more of goblins to join our ranks”.
Chainbrood sighed loudly and stood up. “We don’t need more goblins for our army. All we need is strategy and surprise. You go out attacking travelers missing important meetings for your so-called fun and soon the villagers will become curious and they will discover our plan. Without surprise and strategy the village can hold us back long enough to get reinforcements. We need to crush them swiftly and without mercy before winter covers the land. I’m paying you to follow my plans not to go about on your own and…”
Shadedart slowly held his hand up stopping the tactician in his speech. “You can keep your money. I came here for the thrill of killing not the money. As far as I’m concerned this village is as weak as the people living in it. I don’t care how you do it. I’ll follow your stupid plan but when I’m inside that place I’m doing it how I want to.” With that the assassin left the tent and the meeting was shortly ended. All the while, Gravestrike cared nothing for his general’s fighting but more for the soon coming invasion for the Isubuya region would soon be his for the taking. (by the way, this is the enemies point of view)
