Name of site: Ballad of Camelot
URL: balladcamelot.proboards84.com/index.cgi
Plot (if any) or summary, a welcoming: It is early in the reign of King Arthur, and he has yet to gain the allegiance of all England, has yet to have all recognize him as the true High King, heir of Uther Pendragon. He has much support among the people of Camelot and across the land, but small pockets of discontent are enough to cause much upheaval if left alone to smoke and grumble.
Arthur is just recently married to Guenevere, daughter of King Leodegrance. They were married on Midsummer's Day with great celebration. But as King, the festivities could not last long for Arthur. A number of kings and nobles who had previously abstained from swearing fealty to him before the War of the Five Kings are on their way to Camelot to recognize Arthur as their overlord. Expectant and nervous, the young king has more than just comfortable accommodations for guests and running a country to worry about.
There is a noble, an unsatisfied noble, who will not recognize Arthur as High King. Under other circumstances this would be nothing more than a small thorn in his side. But this thorn is growing. The noble, one Duke Carlyl of Cornwall, has declared war upon Camelot.
How can so many things be going wrong so quickly? That is the question the king asks himself day in and day out. But there's more. Knights have been disappearing. No Round Table knights as of yet, but who can tell who will be next when no one knows who is behind it all?
Times are troubled, and Arthur must prove himself a capable ruler, assisted by his host of faithful knights and followers, before it's too late.
